Daniel Boulud Bringing His Fancy-Pants Burgers Downtown

If you want Daniel Boulud's Original DB Burger in a more down downtown setting, Eater reports $29 Hamburgers Coming Soon to the Avalon Bowery Place development at a new place called DBGB.

This burger, "stuffed with braised short ribs and foie gras served with black truffle" on a Parmesan bun, has never called out to AHT the way it does some folks. Color us eh.

Address: 299 Bowery, New York NY 10003 (at East 1st Street; map)

One of the single finest dining experiences I ever had was at Daniel but honestly, I don't see how that thing can possibly even be considered a burger. I love fine dining and I love burgers but when the two mix I have never been impressed with the results.

It actually kinda pisses me off. How much random stuff can you toss in a burger before it's no longer a burger? I mean, I'd eat it just to feel decadent (like the Kobe burger I had in Georgia, but at least that was just a burger), but never because "Oh man, that sounds like the best burger ever."

Way too much fu fu goin' on with that burger. That burger to me is snobbery for snobbery's sake.

Not to mention that the logo is designed to look exactly like that of CBGB. Nice way to spit in the neighorhood's eye, Daniel.
