Brazilian Hamburgers in Newark, New Jersey

Jason "Off the Broiler" Perlow hits Hamburgão, a Brazilian hamburger joint in Newark, New Jersey. As Perlow says, "Brazilians are quite serious about their junk food. They love to stack sandwiches high with all sorts of toppings you and I might think as weird or excessive — but once you’ve had a Brazilian sandwich, you’re going to be hooked."

The "cheese tudo" sandwich pictured above is essentially a burger piled high with—among other things—fried egg, corn, potato sticks, lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise.

Adam, I spent the last two weeks in Caseville, Mi. on Saginaw Bay of Lake Huron where my wife and I have a summer retreat. Thought you might like to know that Caseville celebrates Cheeseburger week August 10th thru the 19th. Ann Clark is the contact person and can be reached at 989-856-3818. Caseville is a quaint little drinking village with a serious fishing problem. I'll see if I can get you a email address if you want to check them out.

That looks so delicious! I wish I could get one around here, but I suppose I could try making one myself...

@Colorado Jim: That's great. I'll check into Caseville's Cheeseburger Week. "A quaint little drinking village with a serious fishing problem." Heh. I like that.

My husband (a PhD, if you must know) has asked to accompany me on my next trip that I take to Newark on prison business for the singular purpose of gorging himself on these burgers. I do admit they look rather toothsome. Perhaps I will adjust his medication and allow him in the car after all!
