Guess Mr. Cutlets's Mystery Burger and Win!

UPDATE: SOLVED: Hildebrandt's in Williston Park, New York, out on Long Island.

Ask and ye shall receive.

Yesterday, I posted a phone message from Grubstreet editor Josh "Mr. Cutlets" Ozersky regarding the mystery burger pictured above. It exists somewhere in the "greater New York area."

Listen to the message:

"I'm not going to tell you." —Mr. Cutlets

AHT reader Jmunchie asked, "How 'bout a photo of this mystery burger?"

Cutlets delivers, and more. He's willing to join me in taking one of you out to grab one of these burgers. Just be the first person to comment here with the correct answer and the burger is on us.

It should be noted that I still don't know where this is. Cutlets was willing to spill, but I thought it would be fun to be kept in the dark until one of you all guessed it. My initial guess was Hinsch's in Bay Ridge, but looking at my own photos of Hinsch's, the counter and glassware don't match.

Guess away, burgerfolk!

Oooh, I knew where this is. This is like 5 min away from me back home. Used to go there all the time. Definitely one of my favorite burgers. I'm away at school and not in the NY area, so winning the prize would be moot. I'll let everyone keep guessing, but I just want to scream it from the top of a mountain. Could I give another clue? :)

Come on, spill the ants.

Eisenberg's Sandwich Shop?

EJ's Luncheonette -- in the Upper East Side?

Here's a clue. It's on Long Island.

"greater New York area"? by that he means NJ? Long Island? the suburbs?

I know it... I eat there all the time. Don't wanna win cause I don't wanna go out to eat with those knuckleheads. Definitely going this weekend though. Everything there is good.

Oh ... Knuckleheads, eh? Thanks, Chaka. I don't know where the hell Cutlets is. He's not chiming in here or answering his email. So if you wanna spill it, go for it. Eating with Josh and/or me is probably more a punishment than a pleasure.

Are we positive it's on L.I.? I was thinking it looks a bit like the Syracuse, a ways north of NYC, but, then again, I don't see any frosty mugs of root beer, and it's just crazy to go to the Syracuse and not get a frosty mug of root beer!

The All American Hamburger Drive-In in Massapequa!

That's Krisch's restaurant and ice cream in massapequa!

Long Island Cheeseburgers in Wantagh, near my grandpa's house!

Yes, i'm on here before 8 a.m. guessing long island burger joints. I have a problem.

No one has gotten it yet. And it's so worth the getting. I will say that the meat is ground by a nearby butcher, and griddled on a piece of noble steel that looks like it has cooked ten thousand hamburgers on it.

Just tell us already Mr. Schnitzel!

The Juicy Burger and Ice Cream Joint in Glen Cove!

Do you mean Henry's in Glen Cove? The place I think it is is between Henry's and Itgen's. And the one in Hicksville. Definitely Nassau County.

I know what it is because I was told what it is but was sworn to keep a secret so as to not kill the game. Not on the south shore...

Mitchell's in Valley Stream!

Wrong, wrong, wrong! Do I need to send another picture?

Yes. Send another picture!

Okay, I can't take it anymore. It's Hildebrandt's in Williston Park. Mr. Cutlets, which butcher do they use? Is it Ceriello's?

DEFINITELY Hildebrandts. I'd recognize that Coke dispenser anywhere.

Looks like that's it, Dane. Thanks. I was getting antsy about the answer, too.

yup - Right answer

Paul's Place on 2nd ave near St. Marks? Can't say i like their broiled burger that much but the breakfast sandwiches are tasty
