Shrimp Cocktail Burger

The above photo comes to us from AHT reader Marc B., who says, "I ran across your site today and enjoyed it greatly. Also thought you might enjoy taking a look at this burger I put together a while back. I call it the shrimp cocktail burger."

Thanks, Marc! That's INSANE. Talk about surf and turf. How 'bout the recipe?

Asparagus has absolutely no business on the same plate as a burger. I would sub the greens for something a little more practical, like fries...or another burger.

And Shrimp cocktail does? And on the burger itself no less? And doesn't anyone melt the cheese properly anymore?

i stand by my decision to plate this burger with asparagus. grilled asparagus is awesome and goes with anything. and aaron, you're right about the cheese. everytime i look at this picture, i cringe at the unmelted cheese. considering how much time i put into the rest of this, i still can't figure out why i didn't melt the cheese.
