I was just on Windows Live Local, Microsoft's answer to Google Earth, and typed in "Madison Square Park" to see if there'd be a satellite image of the line at Shake Shack.
There's no line in the photo because THERE'S NO SHAKE SHACK. Click on the image above for a bigger version.
No, madison square park is quite a bit more than the damn shake shack. That picture is several years old though, older than google earth itself if that's possible.
Of course they're not live feeds, but you'd think they'd update at least once a year or something, eh? That's gotta be at least 3 years old now. --Adam
I have compared Google Earth's images with Microsoft's 'Live Local'. Both have very outdated images, but MS is way behind!! The building I work in now has three wings. If you zero in on that location on Google the building only has two wings. If you zoom in on the same area with MS there is nothing but trees. Those images on MS must be at least 3 years old. Just to get a general time frame I went to NYC on MS. Thank God the WTC buildings were not there. Both need to get the images updated!! They both have neat features but, like always, they have a lot of work to do. Thanks for letting me ramble!!!! Homer
Ramble away, Homer. That's what the comments are for! To be fair, I don't know what's involved with getting those images, whether they cost money or not, etc. So I understand that they can't be updated daily, weekly, or monthly. Who knows if even yearly. It's no doubt a huge undertaking to get photos of the whole planet, etc. They're fun for what they are. I have to say, I like that MS's works within a web browser. Even on Firefox on a Mac. But Google Earth's is cooler, what with the zoom out, fly, zoom back in thing. --Adam

These aren't live feeds, guys -- that would be a bit creepy, wouldn't it?
