About the AHT RSS Feed

Posted by Adam Kuban, April 27, 2006

Where's the Beef?
A lot of you have been mooing about the AHT RSS feed. "Bring back the full-post feeds," you've said in comments and in e-mails.

Curious about feed subscription numbers, "Hamburger" Matty helped me route our syndication through Feedburner, and, in doing so, feeds were truncated. My original thinking on that was "Suck it up, people! Like a Frosty through a cocktail straw." I spent a lot of time designing the site, picking snazzy colors, and making a stupid logo, and I sorta felt that in your using an RSS reader, the full AHT experience was lost. I wanted you to HAVE to click through to read the site and not see it in some ugly-ass reader whose design I have no control over.

But ... I've started to use RSS readers myself and can understand why you'd want to see the whole thing. And isn't that the beauty of blogs and the Web? That we have the flexibility to provide different tools for different types of users?

So I promise I'll restore full-post functionality to the RSS feed by the end of this weekend, thereby supersizing your AHT order from single White Castle to 100x100. Animal Style.

Update: Full posts should now be restored, but it might take a little bit before they start showing up in your feed reader.
