The Whopperettes

20060126whopperettes.jpgThe Super Bowl will soon be upon us. I love me some football, but since only one out of five Super Bowls end up being exciting, I must rely on the commercials for entertainment. This year, we know they'll be at least one unique burger commercial. Burger King is set to unleash The Whopperettes. The website proclaims that "Eyes will pop and jaws will drop on February 5th." Uh, okay.

USA Today explains what's gonna happen, but they focus more on the distribution of the commercial. As a hamburger blog, we could pretty much care less about downloading commercials to iPods or watching it on our cell phone. So, here's the lone bit of information.

The [60-second] ad is an over-the-top production in the spirit of MGM's 1930s musicals: 92 "Whopperettes" dressed as burgers, flames, pickles, lettuce and tomatoes will sing and dance to new lyrics for the famous "Have it Your Way" jingle.

Well, it sounds like it could be interesting. Personally, I would have preferred a commercial in the style of German Expressionism.
