An AHT reader, Jack, e-mailed us yesterday with a tip. His subject line, "In-N-Out Burger clone opened today on Main Street in Flushing... " The e-mail body:
...it’s called Joe’s Best Burger, located one store down from the northeast corner of Main Street at Roosevelt, and appears to be a new brand, as a (brief) Web search only turned up its not-yet-functioning website. (I’ve never heard of it before.)
It has the In-N-Out formula down cold, and might be worth a trip for In-N-Out lovers.
Adam just want to let you guys know that George Motz is giving a class at NYU School of Continuing and Professional Studies called Hamburger Heaven!! I don't know him but I love hamburgers!!!
Went to joe's best burger which recently opened in flushing queens (on main street). Never got a chance to bring my burger home, waited 15 min. for my number to be called, but that never happened. To much confussion behind the counter, the manager kept telling me it will be ready in a minute. Finally I asked for refund and got one. I could of went to burger king which is across the street or down the block to Micky D's but I didnt, I thought I would try Joe's. I finally settled on Taco bell. I will never know if joe isthe best burger, because I wont go back for second time to give it a try.
Joe's BestBurger has experienced incredible demand since its opening. There was a minor system issue that has been fixed. This may have caused your delay. I hope that you will give it another chance, I guarantee you will find it totally delicious.
If you come between 11:30 and 2:30 please ask for me.......

WOW Judy. You wont give a restaurant a second chance because they didnt have all the kinks worked out before Judy arrived? For peet's sake they have only been open less than 2 weeks. In the first sevreral months of even the most polished operation there are huge bumps in the road. So give them a %*#@&! break, after all they are human and make mistakes (as I assume you do too). Take a chill pill judy.
I've eaten at Joe's about 10 times since I e-mailed the info about Joe's opening to AHT, and the average wait after ordering has been about 5 minutes, and I've never had to wait 10 minutes. Since the ordering line moves far faster than at Mickey D's or BK (typically no more than 1-2 minutes), my experience has been that the total amount of time it takes to get my food is not much longer than that at the other places, and the food is far better.
As those familar with In-N-Out know, the short wait after ordering is the part of the process that guarantees that the food is delivered hot off the grill, and not either zapped or from a warming tray. Anyone who likes the In-N-Out experience will not be disappointed at Joe's.
Dude. I just found out about this blog today. I like pizza but I LOVE hamburgers and fries. It's 8:30 in the morning and I am suddenly starving for a burger.
I went to Joe's Bestburger and it is fairly similar to In N Out. The main difference is that Joe's also offers chicken sandwiches and is an eat in or take out restaurant, while In N Out is a drive thru chain. The best part of this place is that the burgers and fries are FRESH, I almost quit hamburgers because places like McDonald's and BK often give you something left under their heat lamps which often don't taste fresh. The burgers here a bit more expensive than McDonald's but the quality more than makes up for the difference in price.
To Sarah,
Too bad you have no idea about IN-N-Out http://www.in-n-out.com/. If you have ever eaten at THE In-N-Out it is more than likely you did so at a dine-in venue. Drive thru only are very limited and the company has not built a drive thru only in 20+ years. As for Joes, I have not been there yet, but I will give it an honest try. Hope it does not suck (like Blue 9, bad imitation and dirty version of In-N-n Out) since I will be coming from UES. IF everythng is not FRESH ie. NEVER FROZEN and the potatoes are not cut there, then this too will be another B.S. imitation as well.
