To me "burger" is just short for "cheeseburger"—by their very nature, all burgers should come with cheese. Of the many, many burgers I ate this year, only one didn't: the bacon and beef burger from Magnolia Tap + Kitchen pictured above (which I should mention was really tasty). How often do you eat burgers without any cheese on top? Vote, and let us know.
Results from last week's poll
The most popular response for last week's poll about whether or not you cut your burgers in half before you eat them was "no", with 43 percent of the vote, followed by "yes" (29 percent) and "sometimes" (28 percent). Here are some of your thoughts on the subject of cutting burgers in two before eating them:
I admit to being one of those burger halvers. It's probably sacrilege, but I'm a tiny person with tiny hands, so practicalities have to be observed.
No. I tend to find pictures of halved burgers weird because I can't imagine eating one that way. Cutting it is letting the delicious juices run out!
Yes for larger burgers, but never for a small burger like the ones from Shake Shack. With a larger burger, it is a matter of etiquette...plus, if it's mid-rare or below, the middle is where the flavor is.
Note: the poll remains open, so these numbers may shift slightly in the future.
